Retatrutide
- Retatrutide is a next-generation synthetic peptide that has attracted significant research interest for its multi-receptor activity involving GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon signalling pathways.
- A landmark 2023 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine followed 338 adults with obesity for 48 weeks. Participants receiving the highest dose of retatrutide lost an average of 24.2% of their body weight.

Retatrutide is a synthetic triple receptor agonist designed to activate the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), and glucagon receptors. Its unique multi-receptor mechanism has made it a major focus of scientific research exploring metabolic regulation, energy expenditure, glucose homeostasis, and body composition.
Researchers have investigated Retatrutide in preclinical and clinical studies to better understand the combined effects of GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptor activation on metabolic physiology. By targeting multiple hormonal pathways simultaneously, Retatrutide continues to generate considerable interest in research examining obesity, metabolic disease, insulin sensitivity, and energy balance.
Areas of Scientific Interest
- Research has investigated Retatrutide for its simultaneous activation of GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors involved in metabolic regulation.
- Clinical studies have examined its effects on body weight, glucose metabolism, and energy expenditure through multi-receptor signalling pathways.
- Experimental research has explored the role of triple receptor agonists in body composition, insulin sensitivity, lipid metabolism, and metabolic homeostasis.
- Ongoing investigations continue to evaluate the physiological effects of combined incretin and glucagon receptor activation in metabolic research.

Gary Mckenzie –
I started 1mg on Monday and I’m feeling great. Enough appetite that I can hit my high protein goals but 0 food noise!!!! My after dinner snacking was out of control for months before I started this and now I don’t even think about snacking. I’m planning on staying at 1mg for as long as it’s working, no plans to increase at all! But my mum who is overweight and diabetic started the same dose on Monday too and she said she’s still quite hungry. But I’m doing carnivore and she’s calorie counting at a deficit with balanced macros. Diet makes a huge difference.

1mg is all I’ll ever take. 6 weeks on and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. Zero food noise. Less appetite. Fuller on less. Less desire for alcohol and shopping. Better mood. Body composition shift is incredible!

I am a 260 lb male, 50 years old, 5’10” and just began my 4th cycle of Reta. I began with 0.5 mg on week 1 and 2. I titrated up another 0.5 mg on week 3 and 4. My appetite has suppressed with no side effects. I’ve added protein powder to my diet and make sure I am eating balanced meals—but cleaner with this reset that Reta has afforded me. I’ve added resistance training 3 times a week and walking a mile daily. I am sleeping better, my snoring has gone down from an average of 1.5–2.0 hrs a night to 15–30 minutes a night. I’ve already dropped 9.5 lbs and my clothes are already feeling looser. I can’t wait to see the added results in the next few months! This is a wonderful tool that is very effective at low dosages!

Controlled appetite, stair stepped from 0.5 (3 weeks), to 1.0 (3 weeks), to 1.5 (2 weeks), to 2.0 (4 weeks), sitting at 2.5—so far, so good. The beginning hit my appetite hard and I wasn’t getting my protein as needed. I readjusted and simply ate to intake and maintain my goal. Dropped 30 lbs and 5 inches over the first 4 months. Preparing to titrate down, but still have about 10–15 lbs left (that difficult small donut on the midsection), so considering another 3 months and perhaps upping to between 3–4 mg. Training and actually grown 0.5 inches on the arms, subcutaneous fat is massively reduced (veins popping now), so I feel so much better at 62 than I did at 40. It’s remarkable.

After my trip in March, I decided to start Reta. I started at 0.5 mg for about three weeks and didn’t notice much. Once I increased to 1 mg, everything changed for me. One of the biggest differences wasn’t just my weight, it was how my relationship with food and alcohol changed. I lost the desire to drink, my appetite decreased a lot, and it became much easier to stick to healthier habits. I still worked out and golfed, but I finally felt like my choices were supporting my goals instead of working against them. Over the next five months, I lost a significant amount of weight and gained confidence. I feel comfortable wearing clothes I never would’ve worn before, going out with friends, and just enjoying life more.

Today marks one year since I took my first dose of Reta, and holy shit… what a year. I started at **304 lbs at 5’10” mid 30’s.**Today I’m 202 lbs, just 2 lbs away from Onederland. I was really hoping to hit that milestone before making this review, but honestly? I’m not disappointed. I’ve lost 102 lbs in one year, gone from a 4X to an XL, and completely changed my life. Reta has been a fucking lifesaver for me, but I also stayed consistent. I aimed for roughly a 500 calorie deficit, focused on eating well, kept my protein and fiber high, and stayed patient. I didn’t work out much at all. I wasn’t perfect. I had stalls, bad days, and plenty of moments where I wondered if it was actually working. But I kept going, and now I’m here 102 lbs lighter, wearing clothes I never imagined I’d fit into, and so close to Onederland. I haven’t been this weight in 15 years. If you’re somewhere in the beginning of your journey right now, you don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to have the perfect workout routine or eat perfectly every single day. As a mom of two toddlers, I know it’s hard to find time for yourself. Find what you can stick with, stay consistent, and give yourself grace. A year from now, you might look back and realize you’re not the same person anymore.

I dropped 18 pounds in just 8 weeks. I didn’t really feel much appetite suppression, but I stuck to the protocol — eating healthy, prioritizing protein, and training 5 days a week. I never went above 2 mg per week. I’m planning a 12‑week run now. My goal was to go from 19% body fat to 12%, and I’m already at 13.5%. I’m really happy with the results.

47/M 6’3″ overweight. Started out at 240 lbs. 2mg of Reta for 6 weeks. Started 3mg week 7. I’m in week 9 at 3mg and have lost 26 lbs; currently at 214 lbs. Clothes fit great and I feel happy knowing I lost that extra weight. It’s been great suppressing my appetite, especially my sweet tooth. It has actually made me hate eating fried foods and has made me crave eating salads and light fresh foods. I eat grilled chicken, lamb & steaks. I don’t drink sodas so water, lightly sweetened iced teas and black coffee is all I drink. I don’t eat late at night especially if going to bed within less than 3 hours. I started to hit the gym again and can honestly say I lost a little bit of strength but am still able to get the volume in. If I can’t hit the gym to lift weights I try to do a lot of walking or pushups.

Love Reta! I’ve been using it for 11 days and lost 9 lbs. my body is changing fast but more importantly my body just feels better. Night time binging gone. Morning sugar weakness gone. Aches and stiffness gone. I will continue.

I weighed in at 251lbs the first week I started taking Reta, and in 6 weeks dropped 30lbs, I’ve also been stacking this with 50mcg of IGF-1 LR3 daily and 500mg of Test E weekly. I’ve pretty much hit my goal weight but may push my cut to 215lbs. I’ve only been eating when I’m hungry which is only about 1 meal a day, fasting sometimes up to 20 hours plus. I just order another 30mg of Reta, currently on 5mg a week
